Copyright & Content Responsibility Policy

Last updated: 31 May 2026

This policy explains who is responsible for the rights in the content involved in our work, and how Melodistra handles copyright matters. Because we prepare, format and organise audio content rather than license or clear it, the allocation of responsibility set out here is central to how we work together.

Our role, in plain terms

Melodistra provides content and formatting focused services. We prepare curated audio collections, organise playlists, format and adapt sound materials, and structure libraries and archives. We do not grant, transfer, clear or verify any rights in audio or related content, and we do not provide licensing, royalty-management, broadcasting or streaming services. Our handling of materials is purely organisational and technical.

Your warranty regarding supplied materials

When you provide audio, recordings, artwork, text or any other materials, you warrant that you own them or hold all rights, licences, consents and permissions needed for us to handle, format and organise them on your behalf, and for your intended use of the results.

  • You confirm the materials do not infringe the copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights of any third party.
  • You confirm you are entitled to share the materials with us for the agreed purpose.
  • You will tell us if any material is subject to specific restrictions we need to respect.

What our work does and does not confirm

Our preparation, formatting or organisation of any material is not a legal review and does not clear, license or validate that material for any purpose. The fact that we have worked with a file should never be relied upon as evidence that it is cleared, licensed or free of third-party rights. Responsibility for confirming rights remains entirely with you.

Rights in deliverables

Subject to full payment, the specific deliverables we create for you, such as the structure of a collection, formatted files or reference materials, are provided for your use as described in the proposal. This does not include or transfer any rights in underlying third-party content, which continue to be governed by the licences and permissions you hold.

Our own intellectual property

We retain ownership of our pre-existing materials, methods, internal tools, templates, documentation and general techniques, including anything we develop independently of a specific project. Nothing in our engagement gives you rights in these beyond their use as part of the deliverables we provide to you.

Respect for third-party rights

We respect the intellectual property rights of others and expect our clients and the users of this website to do the same. We will not knowingly assist in the preparation or organisation of material that we are told, or have clear reason to believe, infringes the rights of a third party, and we may decline or pause work where concerns arise.

Notice of alleged infringement

If you believe that content on this website, or material we have handled, infringes your copyright or other rights, please contact us using the details below. To help us respond, please include enough information to identify the material concerned, a description of the right you believe has been infringed, your contact details, and a statement of your interest in the matter.

How we respond to notices

On receiving a complete notice, we will review it in good faith and take reasonable and appropriate action, which may include removing or disabling access to material on our website, or pausing related work, while the matter is considered. Acting on a notice does not amount to an admission of liability by us or by any party.

Indemnity for supplied content

You agree to indemnify and hold Melodistra harmless from claims, damages and costs arising out of materials you supply or your use of any deliverable, where those claims relate to rights you were responsible for holding or clearing. This reflects the fact that we do not clear or manage rights on your behalf.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The version published here, with the "last updated" date above, is the current version. Continued use of our website or services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
